The Markha trek is the most frequently visited trek in Ladakh throughout the year. The Markha trek route does not disappoint to trekkers! It spills the chance to ascend the top of two very high passes, Gandala La (4800 m) & Kongmaru La (5150 m) also gives you the opportunity to feast your eyes on stunning sights from the summit. As you come across the charming village, Markha gives a trove in cold semi-arid terrain of Ladakh. Also witness the Ladalhi village life and be met by hospitability and friendliness along the way.

Day 1 Leh-Zingchen- Rumbak 4000 m (4-5 hrs)
A big fat welcome to Leh, paradise on earth. Upon arrival at Leh, meet the decided place where we would have a introduction session as the members on the trip may belong to the different part of the country and going to spend next couple of days also our trekking representative will brief you about the trekking then ho into your vehicle to drive from Leh to Spituk and continue on a dirt jeep road into a parched and exposed region. Further you are going to move into valley, where you find a small but beautiful village, Rumbak, inhabited by 15 families. In evening go for a nature walk. Later rest yourself and overnight stay at neat and clean accommodation .
Day 2 Rumbak-Ganda La Base 4500 m (3-4 hours)
Morning wake up early to view the sunrise. Later enjoy your tea and breakfast from Rumbak take a short walk to our next camp, but very important walk which takes you to acclimatization, as we will reach the camp at such a height. So, we will not hurry so take your time and enjoy each and every moment of the trekking at the Base of Ganda La. After a short walk from the camp, we will come across the village Yuruche, inhabited by only 1 family. Our camp site offer you a spectacular views of Stok Kangri as well the complete stok range.
Day 3 Ganda La base-Skiu via Ganda La 6-7 hours
After a light breakfast, we will begin our trekking expenditure first we will trek for approx 2-hour the trek is also ascent towards Ganda La located at an altitude of 4900m. The place where you may see blue sheep marmots and arghali romantic hills around all this you can explore onces you reach at the top. Don’t miss to explore the lofty Zanskar Range and the distant Himalaya Range gives totally magnificent view. After taking a short halt, we will take a gradual descent to Shingo. Then take a short break for lunch also don’t forget to carry chocolate and juices with you as need lot of energy to during the trek. Then end up your day by hiking for 2-hours through a spectacular gorge before pitch your camp at Skiu located at an altitude of 3300m.Overnight stay and dinner at Skiu
Day 4 Skiu-Markha (7-8 hours)
Following the Markha River, most awaited destination of the trip. Today we are going to hike through the lovely valley on a fairly lovely path. We will trail the cross the river and passes through the winter settlements that contain Lhatos the most religious shrines for local residents and Mani walls the stones built inscribed with Buddhist prayers. During peak season a number of tented teahouses will be open for refreshment. Markha located at an altitude of 3800m is the largest village in the valley, consisting of around 20 houses, an old monastery and a ruined fort.Overnight stay at Markha
Day 5 Markha-Thachungtse (5-6 hours)
Morning after breakfast we will continues pass old stone-mills, a ruined castle and the auspicious monastery of Techa, which proudly perches upon a cliff that looms above Markha. The path then intersects the river several times before cutting through the last hamlets in the valley. As we leave the village of Umlung, we will get the opportunity to explore the mighty Mt. Kang Yatse Located at an altitude of 6400m, which will stay in sight until we cross Kongmaru La. After having your lunch in the village or local dhabha we move head towards the Hangkar which the called the last one in the valley, we will continue onward to the lovely green pasture of Thachungste (4100m), where we will pitch our camp.
Day 6 Thachungtse-Nimaling 4 hours
Today after breakfast we will start our trail will takes us up to the most beautiful plateau of Nimaling, where the people of the Markha Valley bring their herds to graze during the summer months. Located at an altitude of 4700m, you will become more excited after listing that Nimaling is the highest camp located at an altitude of 4600m on the trek, offer us an spectacular views of the huge peak of Kang Yatse to the right. Day 7 Nimaling-Shangsumdo via Kongmaru La pass drive of 7 hours
After a hearty breakfast, we will cross Kongmaru La pass located at an altitude of 5200m, today we will trek the highest pass on the trek, and from here we will get a wonderful view of the Indus Valley and Ladakh Range.. More river crossings bar our way before we arrive at the sour-spring of Chuskurmo one thing that is famous about the village is traditional medicine used by the villagers by the Amchi doctors. Camp overnight in Shang Sumdo.
Day 8 Shangsumdo-Leh
Today after breakfast you will enjoy a pleasant 2-hour walk along a jeep road to Martselang, where the jeep will pick us up.
